For newer homes (under 10 years old) with no known issues, an inspection every two years is generally sufficient. These inspections focus on early signs of corrosion, pressure regulation, and proper system performance.
For older homes (10–30+ years), especially those built with older piping materials, annual inspections are strongly recommended. Aging pipes, fittings, and valves deteriorate faster in Florida due to humidity and mineral-heavy water.
Homes in coastal areas should be inspected once per year regardless of age. Salt air accelerates corrosion on metal components, outdoor plumbing, and gas lines, increasing the risk of hidden failures.
